Marine Robert Warden has some original things to say, and says them very well. He has an indiosyncratic, very personal style, a verbal approach similar to the Impressionists’ use of light. Words evoking a landscape, a phrase catching an event’s evanescent form. And don’t miss the concluding section of the book: “Heaven and Earth” alone is worth the price.
